In Book Six of the Murder, She Wrote series, Jessica is asked by a lawyer to join his legal team as a jury consultant. He is representing a man accused of murdering his brother. It is a high-profile case because the family is a prestigious one in Boston who manufacture a popular brand of baked beans. The case becomes complicated when a prominent witness for the defense is murdered, and some jury members are killed in supposed “accidents.”
For a cozy mystery, this particular mystery was surprisingly complex. Not all of the murders were committed by the same person. Complicating matters even further is that Jessica has to be cautious in conducting any investigation. This is because she is on the defense legal team and there are ethical standards she has to uphold.
I highly recommend this novel, and I am looking forward to reading the next novel in the series. My intent is to read all of the novels in the series and write reviews on them, in addition to novels outside of the series. Currently, there are 60 novels in the series, with books 61 and 62 coming out later this year.
Rating: 5/5
Next Novel in Series: A Palette for Murder (Book 7- Murder, She Wrote)
