Theodosia Browning, in the capacity of business owner of Indigo Tea Shop, is at a yacht club race offering previews of her newest tea—Gunpowder Green. Tragedy strikes when an antique gun goes off killing Oliver Dixon. The big question is was this a tragic accident or cold-blooded murder? Theo investigates and unearths some shocking revelations.
The mystery, as a whole, was a good one. And I did not correctly determine the murderer, a good mystery sign. But honestly, my favorite components of this series has nothing to do with the mystery. First, Theo’s two employees, Drayton and Hayley, have become family to Theo. They work well toghether and have good chemistry. Theo lost her parents at a young age, so this development with her co-workers is endearing. Second, the author does a really good job in bringing Charleston to life. I have never been there, but having these desciptions made me feel like I was there. They are very well done.
I highly recommnend this installment and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
