Over the years with all of the mysteries I have read, I have become rather good at predicting the murderer. This was not the case with Hidden Amish Target. Molly Schultz was cleaning the house for a non-Amish family when she heard gun shots fire. She runs and hides in a van Zeke Bender is using for his business (with the help of a hired driver.) He helps her escape and get her to the police station. The police try to protect her, but the shooter is committed to killing Molly because she was a witness. Unfortunately, this shooter is not above shooting and killing some of the police officers who are protecting her. Molly ends us running from the safe house to Zeke’s house where he takes it on himself to protect her.
Through their time together, Zeke and Molly develop feelings for one another. Zeke is a widow who ended up being betrayed by his wife. Molly lost her fiance in a bad accident. They both have reasons not to be in another relationship. Will they take a chance or will their fears continue to paralize them?
This is a very engaging mystery that kept me guessing to the end. I was surprised at the conclusion, which is a sign that you are reading a clever mystery. I also thought this was a very heartwarming romance that gave both characters a second chance at romance. I highly recommend it.
