In the process of evaluating an antique that her parents had started, Avery receives curious messages begging her to stop working on the project her parents started. Even a security guard (Art Smith) at the museum Avery is contracted to warnes her to stop the project. She refuses to do so forcing the guard to work with her to figure out why this project is so dangerous and its connection to her parents’ car accident.
I wanted to like this novel, but I figured out the culprit halfway in. Predictability is a terrible trait for a mystery. The characters were well done, but the suspense goes flat when you already know who the killer is. As of right now, this series has two novels. I have decided not to read the sequel and focus on other mysteries. However, below is the sequel if any readers are interested.
Next Novel in Series: Peril at Pennington Manor
Next Novels to Review: The Last Word (this is a thriller I’m reading for Book of the Month Club) and A Deadly Judgment (Murder She Wrote- Book 6)
