In the third installment of the Tea Shop Mysteries, Theodosia Browning and her friends are invited to an engagement party for Camille Cantroux and Corey Buchanan. Buchanan ends up being killed in a freak accident, but Theodosia is skeptical of it being an accident. A very valuable and unique wedding ring that was on display at the party is missing. As the novel continues, more events and places become subject to thefts. Theodosia thinks there may be a cat burglar in Charleston. While there is skepticism from the police, Theodosia does her own investigation.
This was a unique mystery and I definitely thought the culprit was a surprise. In this installment, the reader gets to spend more time with Theodosia’s lawyer boyfriend Jory Davis who helps with the investigation, along with Theo’s coworkers. At the end of the novel, the author could have had more of an explaniation about the motives of the murderer, but regardless, it was a solid mystery.
